Project Description:
The project consists of a 400-metre speed skating track plus two Olympic size ice hockey rinks. The total ice surface area is in excess of 10,000 square metres. This was the largest ice rink in Asia and the second largest in the world.
Southa designed and supplied the refrigeration system and associated rink field piping required for production of the ice surface and guided the local institutes to design associated civil, structural, electrical and mechanical systems to suit the complex refrigeration plant and rink field circuits.
East Kowloon Cultural Centre, Ngau Tau Kok, Hong Kong (Under Construction)

Project Description:
The East Kowloon Cultural Centre (EKCC) is located at the junction of Ngau Tau Kok Road and Kwun Tong Road. The centre will house five performance halls including a 1,200-seat multi-purpose hall and a 550-seat theatre, which could make the best use of the site to provide vibrant cultural facilities and services, as well as public open spaces to the community.
The project will be completed 2nd Quarter of 2021.
Festival Walk Ice Rink, Kowloon Tong

Project Description:
The largest ice skating rink in Hong Kong is located at Festival Walk Shopping Mall in Kowloon Tong. Its area is around 1,200 square meters. It serves both recreational skating and hockey matches.
A plant of three glycol chillers with remote air-cooled radiators as the heat rejection equipment is installed. -15°C glycol is pumped through field embedded in the rink floor, on which ice sheets are formed. Sub-floor heating pipes are embedded to prevent condensation on the ceiling of the floor below.
Hong Kong Film Archive & Island East Sports Centre, Sai Wan Ho, Hong Kong

Project Description:
The project comprises the Island East Leisure Centre and the Hong Kong Film Archive in separate buildings with a common car park basement. The Leisure Centre is a 6-storey build ng comprising a sports arena, leisure and training pool, a table tennis room, an indoor bowling green, a dancing room and a fitness room. The Film Archive is a 6-storey building comprising an exhibition hall, a cinema, a film library, a film store, a studio and other supporting facilities.
Inside the Film Archive, a four-floor film cold store with low humidity and low temperature conditions was built to store movie tapes, films and negatives.
Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village Chai Wan, Hong Kong

- Slurry Ice Air-Conditioning System
Project Description:
This is a pilot project for an air-conditioning system with thermal storage of slurry ice built at the canteen in Lei Yue Mun Park. Slurry ice is liquid pumpable ice with suspension of very small ice crystals in a water/ethanol solution, which is produced by a special machine and stored in a fiberglass tank. A special additive is used to prevent agglomeration of ice crystals. The slurry ice solution is then pumped directly to the fan coil units on cooling demand when the fan coil units are switched on.

Project Description:
M+ Museum is the new museum of visual culture in Hong Kong, as one of icon in the West Kowloon Cultural District, focusing on the 20th and 21st century art, design and architecture and moving image. The building consists of plenty of functional areas including exhibition and performance spaces, cinemas, lecture theatre, learning centre and mediatheque.
The Sea Water Cooled District Cooling System for supplying chilled water for air conditioning to the entire M+ area, supply equipment and carry out installations for the HVAC system and plumbing system for the buildings.
Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground

Project Description:
Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground is a multi-purpose sports ground and home of Hong Kong Premier League club Eastern. It was the main venue for track and field events for the 2009 Hong Kong Games, 2009 East Asian Games and 2011 Hong Kong Games.
Occupying an area of about 5.9ha, it comprises the main sports ground, a warm-up secondary sports ground, and other facilities for holding large-scale international competitions. Its track and field facilities conform to International Association of Athletics Federations standards. It is located adjacent to the Hong Kong Velodrome.
Tsing Yi Southwest Leisure Building, Hong Kong

Project Description:
Tsing Yi Southwest Leisure Building was officially opened 5 December 2017. The building occupied a total area of about 6,700 square metres. Equipped with a sports centre and an indoor swimming pool, the building provides Kwai Tsing District residents with quality recreational and sports facilities, including indoor ball courts, a children's play room, an outdoor climbing wall and a heated swimming pool.
Tsing Yi Southwest Swimming Pool situated on the first floor of the building is the first indoor heated swimming pool in Kwai Tsing District and is open all year round. Residents of the district can enjoy swimming even in winter. The pool measures 25m by 15m and has 6 swimming lanes.
